Start the Sequence Memory Test
What this test measures
Sequence memory measures your short-term spatial memory span. Tiles light up in a growing pattern and you repeat it back in order; each round adds one more tile. Your score is the longest sequence you reproduce correctly.
How to play
Watch the tiles light up, then click them in the same order. Every round you clear adds one more tile to remember. One mistake ends the run.
How to improve
- Group the pattern into chunks of three or four.
- Trace the path with your eyes as it plays.
- Stay relaxed — anxiety shortens span more than the difficulty does.
Frequently asked questions
What does sequence memory measure? Visuospatial short-term memory — how long an ordered pattern you can hold and reproduce.
What is a good score? Most people reach around level 9; above 12 is strong.
How is it different from Visual Memory? Sequence Memory is about order; Visual Memory is about which cells were lit, regardless of order.
