What this test measures
The aim trainer measures pointing speed and precision — a real-world index of motor control (Fitts's law). Thirty targets appear one at a time and you click each as fast as you can. Your score is the average time per target in milliseconds; lower is better.
How to play
Click each target the moment it appears. A new one pops up immediately where you click. Thirty targets are timed and averaged.
How to improve
- Move and click in one motion rather than stopping over the target.
- Lower mouse sensitivity can improve precision for large jumps.
- Anchor your wrist and aim from the forearm for long throws.
Frequently asked questions
What does the aim trainer measure? Pointing speed and accuracy — how quickly and precisely you move to and click targets.
What is a good time per target? Around 500–600 ms is typical; under 450 ms is fast.
Does mouse vs trackpad matter? Yes — a mouse is usually faster and more precise than a trackpad for this task.
